Bee Ulmo
Bee Ulmo brings you a unique type of honey from the flowering Ulmo tree in the remote and pristine forests of Chilean Patagonia.
Ulmo honey has been harvested for hundreds of years by the Mapuche culture, Chile’s indigenous people, yet remains relatively unknown because it grows so remotely. This is also why Ulmo, contrary to Manuka, is always glyphosate-free.
The Mapuche culture has used Ulmo honey to treat respiratory infections, sore throats, and digestive issues, among other conditions.
What sets Ulmo honey apart from other types of honey is its unique composition. It is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, and is known to have higher antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties than the rest of honeys, including Manuka.
At Bee Ulmo, they are committed to leaving the world better than they found it. They want to catalyze economic growth in the Chilean Patagonia, so local beekeepers can benefit from well-paying jobs in a healthy, sustainable, and growing Ulmo honey industry.
They are proud to be a Benefit LLC, a 1% For The Planet member and have partnered with Reforestemos Foundation to plant trees in the region. They treat their bees with respect, actually, with reverence. They only use organic and sustainable beekeeping practices.
