Our Herb Flax Crackers are made from soaked golden flax seeds, which have a richer flavor than the more commonly used brown flax seeds. We blend the seeds with fresh organic cabbage, carrots and seasonings. Then we dehydrate the crackers below 118 degrees to retain all of the vital nutrients, including the omega-3’s, for a tasty, crunchy snack. Our flax crackers are so rich in flavor because we never use powdered or artificial ingredients. Since flax seeds are high in fiber and a good source of protein, we created two wonderful recipes to capture the benefits of this powerful seed: Zesty Tomato and Herb Flax Crackers.

Flax Seeds: Flaxseeds provide one of the highest dietary fiber contents found in any seed or grain (28%). Flaxseed’s fiber contains a good balance between soluble (7 – 10%) and insoluble (16 -19%) dietary fibers. Insoluble fiber slows digestion, reducing the rate of glucose absorption, which helps control blood glucose and insulin levels. 2 tablespoons of flax seeds provide 133% of the daily value of Omega 3 fatty acids. Flax seeds are the number one source of Lignans. Lignans are fiber like compounds that provide anti oxidant protection.
Cabbage: This cruciferous vegetable has antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties.
Carrots: 1/2 cup of this vegetable provides 210% of an adults daily value for vitamin A.
