Our Story

Serving the Texas Hill Country and surrounding areas. 

Our Texans roots reach all the way back to 1975 when Foundation Foods’ parent company, HHS, was founded in Austin. In the 43 years since then, HHS has expanded internationally, providing a variety of best-in-class culinary, housekeeping, facilities, linen, and transportation management services, and technology tools for aviation, healthcare, resorts, and senior living providers throughout the United States and South America. 

In 2012, HHS introduced culinary as part of our growing service lines, keeping the goal simple—enrich the dining experience by providing the freshest, highest quality ingredients with a hospitality-driven approach. Our special focus on building partnership, experiences, and stewardship has led us to being named one of the top rated food management contract companies six years in a row by Food Management and has allowed us to expand our culinary services to over 100 locations.

As we continue to grow and establish our new corporate home in Dripping Springs, it’s important to us that we continue to connect with and support our local community. That’s why we decided to bring the same level of fresh, quality food that we offer our partners to you—our neighbors in the Texas Hill Country and greater Austin area—by creating our subsidiary, Foundation Foods.

Meet Our Team

Rob McMahon

Director & Executive Chef

Rob McMahon brings more than 25 years of diverse culinary and catering experience to Foundation Foods and KO’s Cafe. Over the course of his career, he has served as an executive chef at many upscale restaurants and resorts, taught culinary courses as an adjunct professor, and led successful catering operations throughout the greater Austin, Texas area. McMahon joins Foundation Foods and KO’s Cafe as director and executive chef and will oversee catering operations in the region as well as daily meal service at KO’s Cafe. McMahon earned his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales.

Greg Thornton


Born and raised in Texas, Greg Thornton’s fascination with culinary began at an early age. Serving as the family sous chef alongside his mother and grandmother from the time he could hold a spoon, he knew that his career path would always involve cooking. Greg began his culinary education at Le Cordon Bleu in Austin, Texas shortly after he earned his bachelor of science from Texas State University in 2010. Starting his career as a line cook, he then went on to open both Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden and Top Golf as a sous chef. Later in his career he was introduced into the world of catering, serving as the event chef at Royal Fig Catering, reinforcing his passion for hospitality. Greg believes that food brings people together and the best conversations happen around the dinner table. He is thrilled to bring his extensive knowledge and skills to Foundation Foods and serve the greater Dripping Springs area.

Tiffany Tarver

Catering Director

Tiffany was not born or raised in Texas, but as they say, “she got here as fast as she could!” Tiffany discovered her passion for events while working in marketing and being consistently drawn to everything event-related. A true southern girl, Tiffany knows the importance of food when gathering with family and friends.

Tiffany received a Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University, and spent her early career working in marketing and sales. She went on to become a seasoned event planner with Austin Catering, and then served as the catering director for Whim Hospitality for many years. Tiffany loves the Texas Hill Country and is so excited to use her hospitality expertise to serve the “Wedding Capital of Texas” and its community.
